Dohyun Kim is a Master of Public Policy candidate at the University of Chicago, with an academic background in oceanography and coastal engineering. Her interests focus on the intersection of environmental policy and engineering, climate adaptation, and infrastructure decision-making along the coastal regions.

Before joining Harris, Dohyun earned an M.S. in civil and environmental engineering at Seoul National University and a B.S. in Marine Science and Convergence of Engineering at Hanyang University. She conducted research on coastal erosion, sediment transport, and coastal morphology using numerical simulations, geospatial analysis, and machine learning. Her experience includes scenario-based modeling, large-scale environmental data analysis, and translating scientific results into actionable policy insights.

As a 2026 Summer Bartlett Research Fellow working with Professor B. B. Cael, she is excited to contribute to numerical climate-economy modeling and policy research on decarbonization investment strategies under technological change and economic inertia.
