Polash is a researcher and public policy professional with over 9 years of experience working on air quality management, climate health and environmental governance in emerging economies. He has worked closely with a diverse set of stakeholders spanning government decisionmakers, community representatives, civil society, and private sector actors at the national, regional and city level. His expertise is in action oriented, multidisciplinary research, and public policy strategies to monitor and improve environmental health outcomes. He has worked on improving environmental governance through the development and implementation of sectoral strategies for clean air, public health as well as sustainable mobility.

At present, Polash is working with multiple civil society organisations as an independent researcher and advisor. Previously, he was at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), where he led NRDC’s India work on Air Quality and Health, and at the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) where he worked closely with the EPCA, a statutory environmental governance body. He has a master’s degree in development studies from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India. Polash speaks at least four languages proficiently and is an avid traveler. He has recently relocated to North America, and spends his time between California, United States of America and Ontario, Canada.
