Dr. T Sumathy is a Member of Parliament from DMK in the 17th Lok Sabha representing Chennai South (Lok Sabha constituency). She is one of the prominent women leaders and orators in DMK party with a background as an English lecturer at Queen Mary’s College and holds a PhD in English Literature. She is interested in renewable energy and gender issues.
