David P. Byrne is a Professor of Economics at the University of Melbourne, where he holds the Ritchie Chair in Economic Research. He does empirical research in industrial organization and behavioral economics, focusing on digital, energy, and resource markets. His research has appeared in leading journals, including the American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, Quarterly Journal of Economics, and various others. He currently serves on the Federal Court of Australia’s Competition Tribunal and on the executive committees of the Asia-Pacific Industrial Organization Society and the European Association for Research in Industrial Economics.
