Come learn about working in environmental tech with Alumna Erin Fry.
Erin started her career in academia, pursuing a PhD at the University of Chicago in Human Genetics. During that time, she found herself more concerned with the looming climate crisis, and so changed paths to utilize her computational skills at for-profit organizations fighting climate change. Her first job (Analytics Engineer) was at Tradewater, a small Chicago-based carbon credit generation company that manages and destroys CFC refrigerants. She then joined the SPINS (Natural and Organic CPG Technology Company) Data Governance team as a Data Engineer. She is now the lead of Data Products and Program Manager of Future Technologies in the AI & Computational Biology Department at LanzaTech, the first carbon management company to go public.
