Vinay Chawla is a seasoned US diplomat with close to twenty years of experience across the Middle East and South Asia. His work focuses on the intersection of foreign and economic policy in global growth markets.

Vinay is currently a senior advisor on climate finance to Secretary John Kerry, the US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate. He works on various initiatives to bring more finance to bear and at a lower cost of capital in key economies committed to accelerating their energy transition. His current areas of focus include blended finance, project finance, and equity investments.

Prior to and in breaks from the Foreign Service, Mr. Chawla has worked in private equity, management consulting and microfinance.
