Mythili Vinnakota is a fourth-year doctoral student at the Harris School of Public Policy. She is interested in using applied microeconomics and empirical methods to better understand how local economies are affected by weather, flooding, and natural disasters. She is currently working on additional empirical projects that study migratory and housing outcomes for renters after natural disasters, and is also very interested in infrastructure investment and how households, firms, and governments insure themselves against disaster risk. Mythili has a B.A. in Economics from the University of Chicago.
