Job Description

The computational science center (CSC) visualization and analysis group is seeking a full-time (40 hours per week) summer intern (graduate). The intern will work with staff scientists to deploy visualization techniques to support power-system analysis. The candidate will develop visualizations at scale using NREL’s state-of-the-art high-performance parallel computing (HPC) and visualization facilities.


Basic Qualifications

Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree program, or graduated in the past 12 months from an accredited institution. Internship period cannot exceed 12 months past graduation. Minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.

Additional Required Qualifications

Interested candidates should have a solid background in scientific visualization and exposure to power systems. The candidate should be willing to work in an interdisciplinary field, together with computer scientists and power system engineers. The candidate will possess strong programming and algorithm developments skills and have programming experience in one or more visualization programming languages (i.e., Python, C++, R/RStudio, JavaScript,…).
