Job Description

Our Education Team facilitates programs in schools, businesses, municipalities, organizations and in our education center on environmental topics such as energy conservation, renewable energy, water quality, water conservation, recycling best practices, composting and so much more. Our programs are hands on for an ideal learning experience.

Environmental Educators work with community members of all ages. Our educators lead programs as a team as well as independently. Educators are responsible for scheduling; preparing materials which may include handouts, PowerPoints and our educational manipulatives; facilitating programs; evaluating programs; cleaning up the materials; and other related tasks. As a small organization with a huge impact, all SCARCE Team Members share many responsibilities. Each team member assists with data collection, research, and program development. In between programs, educators will work the front teacher check in desk, work with volunteers on various rescue projects, assist with larger event planning and programs, sort books and supplies, and other duties as assigned.

  • A bachelor degree in either education, environmental studies or related field
  • 2 years of work experience in education, environment or other
  • A passion for making a difference in the environment and being part of a dynamic team
  • Ability to effectively work independently, be well organized, and detail oriented
  • Ability to interface with others in a professional manner
  • Able to make decisions with minimal guidance
  • Computer Skills –PowerPoint & Word
  • Reliable transportation
