Both backers and opponents of Proposal 3 are over-playing the cost implications of the renewable energy mandate, says a University of Chicago professor who’s studied the issue.

“It seems to be considerably less exciting than all the drama on either side. It’s not going to bankrupt Michigan and it’s not free either,” said Elisabeth Moyer, assistant professor of geophysical sciences and a director of the University of Chicago’s Center for Robust Decision-making on Climate and Energy Policy.
