Join EPIC and the Program on Global Environment for an Earth Day seminar with David Hindin, director of the Office of Compliance in the Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance (OECA) at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In this lunch talk, he will explore how policymakers can design regulations to improve compliance from industry and ensure that the human health and the environment are protected.
Lunch will be available starting at 12:30pm. The seminar will begin promptly at 12:45pm.

David Hindin is an executive at EPA with 30 years of experience developing and implementing environmental programs, litigating enforcement cases and leading initiatives to modernize environmental programs using behavioral science knowledge and research methods. As director of the EPA’s Office of Compliance, David leads a broad array of functions, including strategic planning and measurement, information system development, public transparency, state program oversight, regulatory development, and compliance monitoring.
Prior to his current position, Hindin spent more than four years as senior policy director for Innovation and Next Generation (Next Gen) Compliance in OECA, leading an initiative to reduce pollution using better rule design, advanced monitoring, electronic reporting, expanded transparency and innovative enforcement. He has received numerous EPA awards, a Vice President’s National Performance Hammer Award and was a finalist for a “SAMMY” Science and Environmental Medal. Hindin earned his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
