After decades of near-silence on the climate crisis in mass media, there has been a massive increase recently in media coverage on climate change and environmental issues.  Climate Journalism has become a key source of information about the climate crisis for non-academic readers. This event series will explore the timeline of climate journalism, attempt at understanding the nuances of impactful climate communications, and serve as lessons in writing effectively on crucial climate and environmental matters. It will also serve as a platform for interactions between interested students and some of the most influential contemporary climate journalists. The series is open to all UChicago-affiliated folks.

For the inaugural session, join us for a conversation with former EPIC Journalism Fellow Amy Harder. Amy, a longtime energy and climate change journalist, is the executive editor of Cipher. Before joining Breakthrough in early 2021, Amy has covered these topics for Axios, The Wall Street Journal and more.
